John Proffitt

Born and raised from Covington, Kentucky. My name is John Proffitt. I am an artist and a musician.Self-taught to play guitar, bass, drums and a few other instruments. I've been playing music for 40 yrs. I'd hope you've enjoyed this oddball collection of my works? Thanks for taking the time to check it out.

What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music is an art. I love to do it at my own pace. It gives me peace of mind and creative thinking.

What is your music dream?

To inspire, to make it enjoyable, to be creative, artistic, musicianship. I would like to be remembered!

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

I'm not out to be a world changer. If I do? I'll have to do some really deep thinking about that.

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

"Gallery -It's So Nice To Be with You." I can't remember everything from my own childhood.

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Beck, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles.... I've got a lot of them really! From Death Metal, to Funk, Classical, Jazz, Fusion, Blues, the list goes on. I'm picky and I go by what I'm in the mood for.

What inspires you to make music?

Passion, relief some stress, get more creative, deep thinking, the enjoyment and what I'd might have gone through that got me doing it?

What is the message you want to send with your music?

There isn't a message. Just artistic.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

I feel fine. I got some music to do!

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

I am not worried about them. I need to improve myself? I do it.

What do you think of Drooble?

Just got here! Hahahaha

What frustrates you most as a musician?

People getting too critical about everything! Music is for everybody. Not everyone is a rockstar but that is OK! You should feel good about what you do.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

Yes, I enjoy watching the street performers, artists, and musicians! When I come across some of them in my town? I check them out. I sometimes even dig what they do! Whenever I can? I check out the music scene in my local bars, and concerts. A starving artist as like myself could rarely do that. But when I do? You bet I'm going!

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

I'm finding that out as I go along.

Share some awesome artists that we’ve never heard of.

Good question! Hayden King on his Youtube Channel Kursk in their YouTube Channel I'll post more when I can think up more later.
