Music to me is therapy... being self taught, have learned and experienced much, and now am trying to pass that knowledge on to younger musicians....
at this age, just to be able to continue to play daily....
direct all my energy to bringing people together instead of dividing them.... music is MY best way to do that...
WOW what a tough question !!...Hmmm....am sure I will disagree with myself here shortly, but I guess I would say Piece of My Heart/ Big Brother & The Holding Co/ Janis Joplin... first time I remember wanting to play guitar, actually the first tune I halfway learned...lol
Jim Croce, Dan Fogelberg, America, Beatles, Eagles, Dr Hook, Billy Joel, Allman Bros, Loggins & Messina, Daryl Hall, Brad Paisley, Steely Dan, Santana, Clapton, Vince Gill, Don Henley, Joe Walsh, and On and On and On.....
the goosebumps it gives me when I do....depending on what I'm playing/ singing, can even make myself cry.....sometimes, IN PAIN !!....lol
just PLAY/ SING..... whatever else is meant to come from it , will.....
I love the challenge, and the chills I get entertaining a group of friends and family... not so much as comfortable in a room full of strangers any more....mainly because I haven't done it in a long time....
there is still , and will always be SOME good music out there, but am disappointed in the way the business, technology, and creativeness is going....I yearn for those good old garage band days......payin dues, havin fun doing it, and good musicians playing together collectively
gr8 idea, have not yet explored all it has to offer....
the aging process.... can't play like I used to.... carpal tunnel/ arthritis has taken away a lot of my ability.... but play on I will....
give lessons to folks wanting to learn what I may have to offer.....patronize local music venues and musicians....
the discipline to sound professional, the perseverance to continue to improve, music business "smartitude"... be creative in all aspects of your music...
