What is music to you? What does it give you?

I love writing first and foremost. Attaching a melody and sound to that writing gives it life in a special way. Its like your favorite movie. Often times, the parts we remember most have music underneath them-a theme to the moment. And that is music to me: A theme for the mood and moment we are in.

What is your music dream?

In a perfect world, the songs I write would help inspire folks to go out and achieve their true callings in life. I'd love to be able to do it full time of course ?.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

One step at a time: Be good, unconditionally, to folks on the left and right of me. Start there and see what happens.

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

"Just the way you are" by Billy Joel always transports me back to when I was around 4 or 5 for some reason. Van Halen's "Jump" does that for me too. Anything Motown also. I come from a musical family and those songs musta have been in the background a lot.

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

Too many to name. I listen to Crowder, Orianthi, and John Mayer a lot currently. Growing up, I listened to a ton of Pearl Jam, Van Halen, U2, Sting, James Taylor, Billy Joel, and Michael Jackson. Favorite all time? Rush

What inspires you to make music?

I think it all stems from the desire to create. I crave that quite often. Its not something I plan for, it just happens and is a part of me. I could be shopping in the market and at times have to break out my phone to record a melody quick before I forget it.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

There is always hope, and no matter who you are: never give up. There are 3 people in this world; those that go for their dreams, those that stand in the way, and those that don't. No matter your size, age, gender, beliefs etc - if you work hard at what are most passionate about then it will pay off.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

Alive! Truly. Safest place in the world.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

There are some great things out there today and some that make me wonder. Social sites, Insta, Youtube etc, provide outlets to us that never existed before. I think that is wonderful and there are a ton of amazing musicians that record in their homes day, pounding the pavement, and creating their bases, Amazing performers too. I wonder if we start playing into our own vanity and want to be Insta-stars etc versus great at our first love. That's a trap I hope we all avoid.

What do you think of Drooble?

Just started and seems pretty awesome - get back to me in a month.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

I need to find more time to perfect my craft. Never enough time in the day, especially with other cares and obstacles.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

I'm new to the area, so I need to start.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

Find your sound and your voice. So what, if it doesn't sound like what's on TV or the radio. If it is truly you, it will sound authentic, and over time you will see that there are people that gravitate to your voice. And those ones will stick it out with you. That is how you create buzz. Send your stuff for reviews and try to get it in different parts of the country. You never know who will identify with you the most.
