Track Record I started my music career since I was aged 10 -with piano, as most of us do. After entertaining at school concerts…I took to managing local bands via my network after qualifying as an Accountant-where everybody says that -you are sure to find a “Bean-counter” to tie up one’s books!.therefore I didn’t have much difficulty in finding venues to engage musos. However I did a guest spot in between and kept my music up to scratch. Then I got on to guitar and harmonica and & chucked-in as segments for various songs. It was a long process in mastering the Didgiridoo and started doing the same with it accompanying my piano playing. Recently I started performing sitting on a cadjon and manipulating egg shakers and foot pedal and all that jazz which goes with it…I do accompany my muso pianist with classical songs with the violin segment of Barcarolle and FurElise & the like! Later veering away, towards Weird Al…I started bringing in parody and satire bunched-up with stage antics A few of the covers I resorted these sort of stuff(in close knit arena) were 1. “Guess that’s why they call it the blues”…(Self accompanied with Keys and Harp) 2. “From little things big things grow”…(Didgi & Keys with a mate occasionally handling Sax) 3. “Pub with no beer”… mucking around with the bar staff wearing the iconic Oz hat with two empty beer cans and all that jazz goes with a combo tube running all the way to the mouth initially 4. &…currently planning to do the stage antic for that Cat Steven’s song “Father & Son” in due course ,wearing a oldie-boldie mask & a wig with a listening young lad handling little percussion Funniest antic I could place on record is where I came to the band-stand like a disable with a crutch on one hand and the Didgi on the other. When I was rocking up, yeverybody was thinking that it’s for real and was throwing-their sad sentiments. Moment I took a seat ...I started converting the crutch to a Didgi holder and then started happily blowing and manipulated the clap-sticks ! In my compositions I try to confuse the listeners by keeping away from the 33M love songs • ."We broke-up... • We are breaking!.. • We are about to break-up.. • We are not going to break-up... • Wish I could break-up... • We didn't break-up... • Wish I had someone to break-up... • People are so... • Things are so...so......Blah////Ha!//// But I do chuck in here & there a couple; for completion sake..all in the name of fun!-That’s it! The only formulae I followed in the process of spinning a song would be to find a hook and get the bass and drums acts in place with the most befitting genre and then ,the rest is history. My genres are all over the place..Rock, Pop, Raggea, R&B , Ambient, Electronic & now veering towards Hip-Hop & had earned the nick-name “Mixed Bikkie” My influences are(Apart from Weird Al) Barry White, Peter Seega, Bob Dylan, Paul Kelly & Arche Roche At this stage as I’m doing a balancing act with a couple of tasks..I do not have fancy, over-ambitious ideas ; but just be happy to note some air time afforded by stations ,if found feasible... I'm cryptic and brutally honest with the message and try to keep away from those 33 million love songs. But nevertheless toss in one or two to line up with the mainstream. No demarcated boundaries in my artistic work.Message is made clear exposing the salient aspects in a quaky manner!
It pull my heart string & help some others to bunch-up together!
