Music is a very important part of my life. Been playing since I was 10 years old and if I and to live without it I would probably be in a very bad place. What it gives me is a relief from stress, a chance to make new friends and a way to make a couple bucks.
To play music for a living. If it gets me a record deal, fine. If not, just work at it independently.

It depends. Sometimes I write about stuff that goes on in my life, sometimes it's random thoughts, sometimes it's a TV show that I'm watching.
Not really a message. Just if you like it and you can dance to it that's message enough.

Everybody says that the music industry is dead but really it's not. I think it's become more specific to everybody's tastes with things like Spotify, I Tunes, Sirius XM and Pandora and the major record companies really don't know how to react to it. Best bet right now is to make your own music and promote it and sell it independently.
Just joined today and it acutally looks like Facebook for musicians. Whatever comes from it we'll find out.
When you hear other musicians in the area bad mouth other musicians. It gives a bad reputation to the local scene. If you want to make a scene better, support each other. Don't diss somebody just because they don't play the same genre of music as you or maybe thy're not the same skill level as you. Be helpful instead of being hurtful.
Whenever I can. Sometimes going out to local shows, participating in Open Mics and if a local band has a CD out, buy their CD.
Being the the major social media sites help. If you do some research on twitter and Facebook, you can find a lot of independent radio stations to get your music on.
