What is music to you? What does it give you?

I've recorded two gospel albums in which I wrote all the lyrics and music to. Back in 2008 when I recorded "It's My Desire" my vocals were rough at the time. Since then, I have improved significantly in terms of my vocal abilities. Music is a powerful source in my life; without music, I would find no direction in life. Presently, I am interested in writing music for other artists and eventually would want to start writing songs for a country record album in the future.

What is your music dream?

My dream and upmost desire, is to share my original music with those who need a positive message implemented within their lives. We live in a critical time when people are reaching for answers. My desire is to reach back to fulfill a need in someone else's life.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

Teaching and Implementing wisdom to understand the art of mindfulness.

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

Whoever finds This, I Love You - Mac Davis

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

I love the 60s and 70s, so a few of my favorite bands would include: The Turtles, The Beatles, John Lennon, John Denver, Mac Davis, The Rolling Stones, Mama & the Papas, Judy Collins, Simon & Garfunkel, The Grass Roots, Tommy James & the Shondells, The Bee Gees, The Dave Clark Five, The Eagles, & Black Sabbath; just to name a few.

What inspires you to make music?

I am inspired to write, mainly when tragedy or celebratory events occur. Music can lift the hearts of those who grieve and it can often give hope. Music also has an opposite effect in making someone merrier, in celebrating on a higher level of positive emotion.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

My songwriting would convey many type of messages, but some messages would stress the fact, that there's always a calm after a storm, and if the storm lasts too long, the message of a song can speak to the mind and heart; revealing the fact, that the storm may still be raging, but the sun is still shining behind those clouds.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

The bigger the audience, the more excited and passionate I become. I know that I bear the responsibility of not only giving my best performance, but that I give it with all my heart and soul.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

Musicians need to understand the old saying "To my own self be true". if you know you were chosen in life to be a conduit to others around you, you need to not discredit yourself on stage. There were a few times I forgot my words to a song; God, that was terrifying...but I made light of it, as if it was intended to happen, when all the while, it was a frightening screw-up.

What do you think of Drooble?

Having just joined...so far, I feel it has given me more of an incentive, to provide my personal information so that other people may become more interested in who I am and what I do.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

Traveling too far, setting up your equipment before you start your gig, and not getting enough of sleep sometimes.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

I believe strongly in supporting local bands and vocal artists. I personally feel that the best ways to support your local musicians, is to give money toward a particular cause, like the "Children's Network" or a situation when a group is collecting money for the health and well-being of elderly individuals. You can also support your local musicians by purchasing their CD and / or DVD merchandise, and lastly support the band by just being present at their concerts; this gives them an added assurance of how well they performed, and they will have no problem coming back to another one of your events.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

A musician must be capable of being self-assured of their ability to make something out of themselves. It's a consistent job for an artist to find any way possible to be known, but a lot of artists who feel they need to start out "big-time" can easily fail to accomplish what they set out to do for themselves. A musician needs patience and discipline and sometimes they just need to wait for good opportunities if they want to succeed. I feel that you must start out small; sing within your own community. People will begin to recognize you. Sing in nursing homes; there are plenty of them and most will pay for your service.

Share some awesome artists that we’ve never heard of.

Presently, I am not sure whom we have; singing in our surrounding communities at this time, due to the COVID epidemic. Hopefully, musicians will be back on the road; full time in July or August. Then there will be more opportunities to check out some of the old and newer groups that are developing in the area.
