What is music to you? What does it give you?

I have been involved in music since I started my first instrument (trumpet / recorder) in the 4th grade. I've been in a few bands over the years, but nothing serious. I have always had big stage fright. I actually don't enjoy being in front of many people, especially ones I don't know. I got my first what I consider home recording studio/equipment (Pro Logic X) about a year ago. Over this time I have been learning to record and as I do I become better at all the instruments I own. The part of music i enjoy the most is writing and recording. I have no want or need to play on stage anymore. I would be very happy watching someone else play my music. I am currently looking to collaborate with others (locally) on writing music. I most desperately need a vocalist/song writer. My songs do differ from light to hard. I am willing to adapt them to a good vocalist.
