What is music to you? What does it give you?

The window of your soul, it gives you peace and love inside when done right.Music also is my life. It is not something I just do,It is what I am..

What is your music dream?

Too be a songwriter that is able to capture folks feelings and share stories in song that folks will love and identify with.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

Politics. I do not like how there is so much hate going on today. I would change this me me attitude that has taken over the world these days and go back to when we as the human race respected each other without all the hate.

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

Operator by Jim Croce and Blue Sky by the Allman Brothers Band. I also was a huge John Denver and Buddy Holly fan as well. Jim Croce was the absolute top of the world of music for me in the very short time he was with us in the music world.

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

Jim Croce,John Denver,Guy Clark,Townes Van Zandt,Allman Brothers Band,Pure Prairie League,Eagles,Lynyrd Skynyrd,Molly Hatchet,38-Special,Steve Earle,Rodney Crowell,Poco,Don Williams,Waylon Jennings,The Wilburn Brothers,Neil Young,Nanci Griffith,Kate Wolf,Eva Cassidy,Emmylou Harris,Roberta Flack.

What inspires you to make music?

It is in me !! It is what I was born to do..It is my reason for being.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

Positive songs, about real life.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

comfortable. I normally love playing listening rooms and clubs where folks really come to listen to your music..I am uncomfortable in bars because most folks go there to party and get drunk, music is secondary to that for them.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

Today it is more cut throat than it was..I used to play 6 nights a week in venues back in the 70's and 80's and made a living doing that..Now with DJ's and Kareokee and musicians under cutting other musicians just to get a gig, well that is why bands and artist can't get great gigs anymore. Used to be you could book a gig say for $100..Then someone would come along and do it for $80,the next would do it for $50, $40,$30 and so on until now the biggest majority of the bands and artist must play for Free these days..When I started on the scene we bands and artist around Jacksonville,Florida worked together and helped each other out..As the Allman Brothers said in their song we were all Brothers of the Road so to speak. This day it's more Me Me and to hell with you..Not good vibes at all.

What do you think of Drooble?

I believe it is a great and useful tool for artist and bands if used properly. It certainly helps to get your music out there. So if used properly Drooble can be fantastic.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

Thankfully I am at an age in my life where I do not let things get to me anymore. I guess in the music world I don't care for all these venues wanting artist or bands to play for (free) for exposure ??? What a crock..Wonder if a musician ask for free meals or drinks from their places of business and the musicians tell them they would give their meals or drinks exposure..Bet they would'nt like that at all. Truth is a artist, band, musician has just as much a right as any other job to earn a living..Not to be taken advantage of from these venues.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

Yes I support songwriters and musicians and bands and artist in my area..I have created singer/songwriter live radio shows and help establish a worldwide radio show that continues from a venue in my town in which I reside that is still going strong. I very rarely go into bars at all as I do not drink so I do not support that kind of thing..Nothing against them it is just my personal choice. But I do support live music venues in this area.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

The best one I can say is LOSE THE EGO !!! So many have ego's this day and age and think they are the greatest things since sliced bread..Lose that attitude..God blessed you with a talent and feel blessed that you have it and that folks might like your music. It is a honor to be able to play and have people accept you, but always be true to yourself and play what is in your heart treat the folks that like your music as the most important people in the world because they are..So lose the ego's and treat everyone with kindness and enjoy them..Because those are the folks that enable you to make a living in music.
