Jenny Jumble Is ABOUCHER

Story

I started making music under the name of Jenny Jumble in 2013. My first album: Reputation, is 16 electronic dance tracks I made adding the occasional tv and movie audio samples in my own way. My second solo album: Brave New Girl, is an experiment in hip hop and electronic dance pop. In it I explored abstract themes as: Time, The Wonder of Life, Dreams, Karma and Courage. I was in the EDM bands Jumblebee, JJMT, Roving Sex Gang and Twisted Loop Party, all with Dick Pissed. I made one alternative song under the name of Shark Tooth Sista. I made an album with another artist as the hip hop team: Rigged $ista. And I was in the trip-hop trio: Malignant Lips - for a spell. I've also worked with a handful of other talented artists to create great music. Recently though, I put my former dance music persona of Jenny Jumble to rest to become: ABOUCHER, and begin to deal with the history of the taking of my Grandmother Boucher's life and to evolve into an artist with a deeper, more powerful message and a new sound. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Have you ever had a fascination with something never understood, Frozen in your isolation, though you did all that could? I sleep with my eyes open and dream while wide awake. I am an immortal soul this mortal coil won't break.

What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music speaks to my soul, it goes deeper than most things can and plants seeds in my imagination for future inspiration. Music opens me up, finds the situation at hand and connects to it in a way that amplifies my feelings, validates my existence, and creates new paths for my synapses to travel along. Music helps facilitate my evolution and continued enlightenment. Music is the great vibration, the amazing frequency, and it reverberates inside all of us.

What is your music dream?

To reach people deep inside with my songs and subject matter. To inspire strength and courage to my followers and fans, all the underdogs. To be a voice of everyday positive human rights activism as a survivor of childhood and domestic abuse. And to one day perform live in front of an audience who knows me.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

I would first ban handguns and assault weapons worldwide. Next, no countries in poverty would be charged interest on loans needed from the prosperous countries. I would collect money from the 1% elite ruling class and the Fortune 500 Companies and redistribute the wealth to those countries and groups in need of food, water, shelter, emergency relief, medical needs and education.

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

Strawberry Fields Forever - The Beatles Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen Funkytown - Lipps Inc.

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

Pink Floyd, Syd Barrett, Radiohead, David Bowie, Cyndi Lauper, Soul Coughing, The Knife, Beck, The Beatles, Prince, Marilyn Manson, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, Fever Ray, The Pixies, The Police, Gravediggaz, Eminem, Bauhaus, The Cure, The White Stripes, Florence and The Machine, MGMT, Feist, Erykah Badu, Underworld, DJ Shadow, Mindless Self Indulgence, Black Sabbath, Clinic, Bjork, Devo, Beastie Boys, MEDUSA, Out Hud, Peter Gabriel, Nirvana, Queens of the Stone Age, Rush, Tame Impala, Zero 7, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Schoolly D, Sheila E, Talking Heads, The Killers, System of a Down, Busta Rhymes, Roving Sex Gang, Cardi B

What inspires you to make music?

Everything profound, be it positive, negative or neutral, inspires me to create music. Life is rich with things to expound on!

What is the message you want to send with your music?

Think: Now We're on the brink Of extinction! We tried to warn you Many times Through the years. You told us "f*ck your tears!" But it has never been ok. No glory in our DNA. Only death and mass decay. We just need another way. We just need another way...

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

I feel empowered and on fire when I get in front of an audience. I haven't played a show, yet, but I have stood and made a presentation of my college thesis in front of my Psychology class. It was exciting and engaging because I made it interactive. And there was the time I performed a poetry reading at my hometown public library. I recited all my poems from a poetry book I'd just written called Madness & Beauty. There were only five people who showed up, but it was very interesting and invigorating!

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

There are so many musicians and hybrid genres now that the power to create music is more attainable, music programs more accessible and social music websites make it easy for musicians to connect and collaborate. Today's musician must tap into the world's consciousness by observing with keen awareness what drives the energy of the world we live in and what speaks to people on a deep level. Musicians make a unique and powerful statement as artists.

What do you think of Drooble?

I already love it - It's easy and free and I love the whole set-up!

What frustrates you most as a musician?

That most underground musicians don't always generate the kind of revenue they deserve due to lack of support by fans and followers. There should be more sharing of independent musician's profiles and track releases, more underground music reviews, more fans should support their favorite artists through purchasing their music.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

There's no good local scene where I'm living right now on the coast of Oregon. But I do support independent/underground artists online. I support musicians from all over the world on Soundcloud by listening, commenting and sharing (reposting) tracks. I support my top favorite artists by purchasing music and merchandise at websites like Bandcamp.com

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

Unique sound, unique message, unique lyrical styles and integrity.

Share some awesome artists that we’ve never heard of.
