Hyper Foofie

Story

Hyper Foofie is a chiptune project born in December 23rd of 2016 composed of Jeffrey Fernández (that's me, hello!). It all started back in Sweden when I met Dunderpatrullen in Skellefteå. After watching one of their gigs and staying on the same hotel and sharing stuff, I returned to my home country (Costa Rica) with a new vision. I started goofing around with Reason and my brother's Yamaha MA-150, and then boom, the track Bomb Crusader was born!

What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music is a connection to a different dimension, or the maximum expression of someones beliefs, attitudes and emotions. It also reminds me of what you are and what do you like.

What is your music dream?

Be able to play my stuff in open festivals, as for to show people what chiptune is, and how well can it blend with electronic music. Also to show how making music is all about feeling it and committing as well.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

Hm, would probably start with an infinite supply of Dr. Pepper.

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

Mostly the Bomb Omb battlefield theme from Super Mario 64, the Athletic theme from Super Mario World or the Tetris theme. If band related, I gotta say The sign from Ace of Base.

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

Dunderpatrullen, Rymdkraft, Meganeko, Nanobii, FantomenK, Bossfight, Trey Frey, Xyce, Izioq, Knife Party, and most importantly my friends which are Moonkin Salim, Prisma Deer, Nebulossa, Funka, and logo! .

What inspires you to make music?

My friends.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

Happiness 24/7, also that music in videogames is as important as any other genre.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

Lil' anxious to be honest, but once the 1st song's done, its all happiness from there!

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

Once I do realize what's wrong, I'll let you know ;)

Great for exposure, still trying it out haha

What frustrates you most as a musician?

People not listening.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

Going to their gigs and listening to them

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

Someone tell me how :'(
