Story

I am a full-time student at Berklee College of music in Boston Massachusetts via online classes. I am a 25 year retired Coast Guard veteran. I am a very proud full-time single father of an eight-year-old boy. During my last assignment in Key West Florida, I started my second career as a solo acoustic musician. In 2017 I retired from the Coast Guard, and moved to my current location in Parrish Florida. My aspirations are fairly simple. I don’t desire fame or stardom. I simply want to make music that people like and want to hear. I currently only play covers, Although I have become deeply interested in songwriting. I have already started to write some songs. My goal is to have three or four songs that I start to play live with in the next year.

What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music is a way for me to get away. It is the universal language. It is the one constant in my life that I can always turn to. It never lets me down. Music tells a story. It paints a picture. Good music puts you right in the shoes of the writer. Good music evokes emotion. It even creates euphoria.

What is your music dream?

My dream is to write music that moves people. Music that conveys messages that others can associate with. My dream is to have a positive impact on someone’s life because of my music.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

I would ensure that everyone on this planet had food, water, clothing, and shelter on a regular basis.

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

Puff the Magic Dragon

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

Too many to name, and the artist I name changes constantly as well as the genre of music. Currently I am into artists playing live on YouTube. In particular, Kip Moore, and Brothers Osborne. Don’t let the country fool you however, I love to rock also!

What inspires you to make music?

The creative aspect. The freedom to express myself. The confidence that comes with putting myself out there and making mistakes in front of everyone. The sound that my voice and guitar make with everything comes together perfectly.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

I want everyone to know that we all have heartbreak. We all have suffering. Life is not easy. It’s OK to admit that. It’s OK to let your freak flag fly. There are those who admit that their life is tough, and there are those who are full of shit.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

It depends greatly on the audience. If the audience is into it, I get into it. If the audience really isn’t paying attention, I can sometimes get lost. When the audience is having fun, it gives me a high.
