Jd Ozone

Story

I got my first guitar at age 5, a garage sale acoustic that had a melbay book of chords with pictures. I never looked back, I knew chords before spelling. My ABCs were chords... I formed first band with Stacy Jones (Miley Cyrus, Letters to Cleo, Verucasalt, American Hifi etc.., Mathew Kline, Jack Barger, and Kurt Ammons in 7th grade.... Played my first shows with them, then went in Navy as Electronics, Satcom Crypto guy. Did multiple war tours, got out 1995 and started Ozone in 1995.. Been playing as Jd Ozone since with many great and famous people in my band. I just love music and instruments. I now also make guitars, basses and amps, some played by famous people. Don’t count me out yet, lol!!’

Soulful peace and enjoyment.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

You have both plus and negative now with no major labels or cd type sales. If you do it all yourself pay for studio or do it yourself you split mo way with no one. Also times are changing the days of women half dressed performing and keeping attention for everything but good new music is ending. Who knows what’s next stay true to yourself.

What do you think of Drooble?

A good mix of older music sites. Makes being involved fun and keeps you involved. I also like how this community is evolving...

What frustrates you most as a musician?

So little support from community now, and they wonder why same old 40 year old songs are all you get in movies etc. example Highway scenes Funk 49 or the like. Awesome song love it but without nurturing the arts it will stagnate into more half dressed people trying to be popular as a musician with no real music or talent.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

Yes. Go to shows, record people, fix instruments for people etc... I’m the Jerry Garcia type...

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?
