Jaymz Cellartapicus

why?

the way things can be done so differently, and still be recognisable. the building up of energies towards crises that resolve to plateaus of otherness, the need for emptiness / the need for fullness. the need for speed, the need to pace it. the many dimensions. the anticipation of what has been, and memories of that which is yet to come the preparation that we all need for inevitable changes. the ability to allow each listener to populate what (s)he hears with their own meanings

What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music is a community of Octopi who surround the land-masses of the world. They give me my thoughts, just as they give yours to you.

What is your music dream?

In a fully realised manifestation I would cause a lasting standing-wave pattern to emerge in the eternal sonic-fluid that opened a visible path towards where society can find themselves, and balance everything.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

I can't remember - it was good though, as i was well-prepared.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

if you can't afford to play live then your income-stream from music belongs to whoever hosts your content. Some pro bands might start refusing to record anything at all and only play live, then permanent recordings will be mostly made by amateurs.

What do you think of Drooble?

I haven't been here very long , but it has a comfortable look and seems to have some promising intentions or features.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

mainstream domination of the airwaves using a narrower and narrower definition of constitutes saleable music.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

I like to get involved where possible in helping out with whomever is close at any time in their projects. I'm interested in promoting a local social jam-scene of some sort.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

Avoid copying the safe formulae - the mainstream is already doing that way too much, and suffering for it.

Share some awesome artists that we’ve never heard of.
