What is music to you? What does it give you?

Life doesn't make sense without it. Music kind of saved me when I was young. I still kling to that feeling. That music can cure you from being lonely and desperate. It's one of the most positive things life has to offer.

What is your music dream?

Being able to make music as long as possible.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

Get rid of plastic to start with.

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

O there are so many. To name a few: Troggs - From Home. Stranglers - Burning up time. Joy Division - Heart and Soul. New Order - The Him. Killing Joke - The Requiem. Rolling Stones - We love you.

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

My Bloody Valentine very much inspired me. As did the early Jesus and Mary Chain, Pixies and Wire. I'm a big fan of The Fall also. Cocteau Twins, Early Lilys, Swirlies. Glenn Branca. Sonic youth. You got the picture. Nowadays I play a lot of Oh Sees. But I also like classical music, opera and ambient.

What inspires you to make music?

Life, I suppose.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

I don't think music needs to have a message. It is communication in itself.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

Nervous and sometimes uplifted.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

It's a good thing it has become so much easier to get in touch with a lot of music and musicians. It's a bad thing it has become extremely difficult to make a living out of music made with other intentions than being commercially successful.

What do you think of Drooble?

A great way to connect and get to know music you wouldn't run into another way.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

Let's not go into my frustrations :-)

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

Go see a lot

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

Being serious about what you're doing. Even if your music is meant as a joke. Be serious in making the joke the way you think it should be.
