At the heart of Indianapolis rock artist Indygo Skye’s music lies a deep exploration of the human experience. Inviting listeners on a journey of self-discovery, the music is directed towards helping others to overcome hardship by understanding they’re not alone. Drawing inspiration from personal struggles and triumphs, the Indiana-based musician immerses the audience into his innermost thoughts through introspective and captivating lyricism. The sound draws inspiration from an array of influential hard rock icons, including Linkin Park, Sevendust, Breaking Benjamin, and Evanescence. However, these inspirations are not confined to just one genre alone. Indygo Skye seamlessly incorporates elements of R&B, pop, and even gospel influences into his sound, particularly when it comes to captivating vocal delivery. It's this blend of high-energy guitar-driven rock with touching, soulful lyrics that sets the music apart, creating a sound that appeals to a diverse range of audiences.
Music is and always has been the way I could best express myself. It's the way I process the world around me, and interact with my surroundings. Most importantly, it gives me the opportunity to connect with others, to reach out to anyone and let them know they're not alone.
My dream is to grow the band enough to tour regularly and make a living from creating/playing music.
How everyone treats one another. If people could care more about one another, they would care more about the world they inhabit.
Sevendust is definitely my all-time favorite.
Music has been a constant in my life for as long as I can remember. I get inspired by everything from a movie to a random conversation with friends or strangers.
A lot of what drivers my music are uplifting themes. I spent much of my life not believing in myself, so I'd like to let my listeners know that they are stronger and better than they think the are. My single "Carry Me" focuses on themes of mental illness, but more importantly it is an anthem of empowerment and overcoming. Those are the kind of messages I want to send.
Drooble seems to be a great resource for artists!
As someone who doesn't spend too much time on social media, it's frustrating how much social media has become such a huge part of music exposure. It also presents opportunities to drivers that they didn't have 10+ years ago. I recognize the usefulness of it, just have to get used to being consistent.
I am always looking out for artists in my area. I've gone to local shows, I always try to share, or listen to an artist from the area, even if it's not my genre. Local support is incredibly important, and luckily my area is slowly getting better and better.
Tenacious spirit and consistent media presence! Consistency is KEY!
