When I was in college, the leader of my band was a communications major and did his master's thesis on the band. The essential point of his thesis was how one communicates with another musically and music is such a universal language that I have played for both a squirrel and a cat. So even though I can easily express myself verbally, you don't truly know who I am unless you've heard me play because I play from my heart and attempt to express what I'm feeling at the moment. When you play music that comes from within you express yourself in your own unique and universal way. There are reasons why it onlytakes a note or two to realize you're listening to Jimi Hendrix or Eric Clapton, etc.
