How did you get together as a band?

We started out as the back up band for a punk Psychobilly performer. When that ended we went out on our own with the Rev. as the singer and guitar player. Seemed like the thing to do as The Rev. was writing all the songs , playing guitar, booking shows, promoting.

What is music to you?

A couple of chords and a riff. Throw some words in there and Bobs your uncle.

What is the meaning of the band’s name?

I was driving through the midwest and saw a store front in a truck stop that said Highway Chapel in the window. Thought that's a great name for a band fronted by a guy called The Rev. Rock n Roll Ministry.

What is your band to you? Each member can write their own answer

We want to leave something behind when we die so we wont be forgotten a week later.

What is your music about and what message do you want to send with it?

That's for you to figure out from listening to it. That's your job don't be lazy.

What inspires you to make music?

I don't know how to do anything else.

Which musicians or bands have influenced your music?

Jimi. Cream. Ten Years After. Leslie West. Bowie. Ramones. Sex Pistols. Beatles. Zep. The Who. Johnny Winter. Howlin' Wolf. ZZ Top. Sabbath. Any old dead blues guy. Stones.

What have you learnt from each other that you didn’t know before joining this band?

Laurel the drummer is very good at arranging my 2 chords and a riff into a real song. I have picked up ideas from her. Aut the bass player I have known since middle school so nothing. We communicate telepathicly.

What is the feeling during a live show?

High Energy. We are gunslingers so we always try to blow the other bands off the stage. And we always do.

What do you dream of?

Playing in large venues in front of lot's of people.

What does it take for a band to get their music heard by a larger audience?

Money.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

It's too depressing I don't want to get into it.

It's fun. Facebook for the music inclined.

What does frustrate you most as a band?

Trying to gain a following.

Do you support your local scene as fans? How?

When I can. I'm old and tired.
