What is music to you? What does it give you?

good question! I guess music to me has been something that defined my life I felt everyone had a knack for making music but I felt the music I could make was how I felt at the time so it would reflect my mood and emotion. So music to me is expression, and what it gives me is freedom! If I am angry if I am sad if I am lonely or happy I have the freedom to express just that!

What is your music dream?

Simple I am living my music dream! I am creating music that people are actually enjoying so I am living that dream. The one dream I guess I want to come true is for someone famous to take one of my songs for a drive and make it sound better than I could ever make it!

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

Software! (Smile) The best minds in the world have pondered peace without any answers and these days its even harder to say whats right and whats not! So better simpler software that,s user friendly and readily available to everyone may be a good starting point to change the world. Punch a few key's end world problems from all points on the globe. Then we can get back to making music!

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

so many of them and all of them are sad songs but I guess my first real connection with music and emotion would have to be "If I don't have you" the sound and emotion that starts that song has always shaken me just one man no music singing his heart out to a woman, powerful stuff for a 12 year old!

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

I have too many favorites Beatles, Stones, Kinks, Ramone's, Petty, Floyd, King Crimson Who. Warren Zevon the Cult Otis Redding Quicksilver Messanger service and ten CC Led Zepplin and any band with Clapton then we go to Allman brothers and Jo Jo Gunn, Spirit Strawberry Alarm clock Janis and the whole gang there! ELO and Tangiriene Dream! I am sure if I Answer this next week there would be a whole new list! LOL So I say ALL OF THEM

What inspires you to make music?

well a good story that I can make Mysterious enough to fool the listener into thinking they know what I am saying. If you listen to the words in my song "are there stars" most will say its a love song for someone, but it was written for my band to take heart and let me show them that we can make great music just let me show you. A friend was saying there are no more good songs and no more big stars doing them, It was kinda my answer to him that yea there are good words and there will always be stars! Gotta believe!

What is the message you want to send with your music?

Yes I Can!! Sounds funny but I want everyone to know that Music is everyones and it can make you feel good it can make you feel bad. SO depending on the song the message I want to send is Listen!

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

Well when I do a song I really feel the emotion behind what song is being done! Be it something simple like knocking on heavens door that can portray sad emotions to Mr Jones and me which I like to get people into a happy mood to a sad mode back to happy. But when I started the word would be Nervous for sure, My first gig I finished the song and was so surprised that people were clapping for us and had to think about that for a while because I sang a verse wrong I was thinking Oh god that sucked!

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

If you play keep playing everyone can get better and everyone can learn from others who like to play so the reality of a real musician today is play as often as you can and stay true to your art! I see more and more improvement daily this site is a true reflection of that!! So much Knowledge out there and so much talent its inspiring to listen those willing to help with their know how! So to Improve the scene we need more gig's and better radio stations that play whats off the playlists!

What do you think of Drooble?

Well you guys here have some nerve shaking me up like this! I was in the wasteland with my music and so overwhelmed with everything a good recording needs, Playing all the instruments and writing the songs was also challenging and without help or tech support downright frustrating, Then I found you guys. People I contacted gave me a library of Info that has me excited again about doing my recordings and using my newfound knowledge to that end! So what do I think of Drooble! AWESOME !!! I am going into the studio tonight and starting my new Album! thank you all here at Drooble, for making a world wide music community that can really help us!

What frustrates you most as a musician?

just the regular stuff! Egos and competition between band mates! Music to me has never been a competition its always been a collaboration and blending of talents that make the final product a success, I am sure we have all been on the learning curve with whatever instrument we are playing (Hell I still am) but we improve with performance and practice. If your great with what you play you may have to down play your abilities to make the others comfortable! Likewise If your not too good stepping up your performance will make a better blend. But when you have a competition it can make even a simple song turn out simply awful!

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

Well I have supported the local scene here in Providence Rhode Island for a long time I have Jammed with far to many people who have toured and done the local scene, I have helped rehearse some acts here and bought the music of our most talented here In RI. Not to mention always finding a bar that has live music too!

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

I have no Idea If I find the answer to this question I will let everyone know! I have heard beautiful voices and I have herd songs that should be played so much more but don't! and that is sad! so I guess having a good sense of business would be a great quality, being able to talk around a music producer to get a contract to record would be good too! But for me the best quality you should have is be able to change!

Share some awesome artists that we’ve never heard of.

well most of them are here! I have found some great song writers and some people who produce music so well I would need lots more space to tout them all!! But I will say Jake Taylor and Gideon Doolaard have my ear now!
