Music gives me an outlet for the emotions too powerful to keep bottled up . inside of me. It allows me to combat my depression and bi polar disorder with my creativity. It allows me to bare my soul to a beat and be healed in the process honestly.
My dream is to get to a point where my musical platform and my non profit organization platforms are inextricably combined. To make it in this industry you have to attack every project like youre the hottest mofo on the planet. But regardless if I reach my greatest potential of being the goat, it doesnt matter if I have not saved one child of color in the process.
The willingness to be indifferent simply because one isnt directly affected. Then I would place our under privileged children on such a pedestal that they have every opportunity to thrive and reach their dreams.
Honestly there are three which shaped the artist I would become: Renegade by Eminem and Jay Z, Fear by Drake and Man in the Mirror by the King of Pop Himself.
Drake, Chance the Rapper, and J.cole are the men who shaped my style and content focus. Kendrick is accending to goat status, Jay Z, Eminem and Lil Wayne are already in the conversation. Smino has inspired me a lot recently and i just got put on to his and Mac miller's greatness. SZA, Rihanna, Selemawashere, Tygko, Bryson Tiller and Solange round out my to 15.
Knowing how much it has saved me and knowing the value in telling my story. It also allows me to connect to like minded souls and as a platform to save the children of color who i feel it is my destiny to give my life in service to.
