Veteran of the live music scene now records in the basement after everyone has gone to bed.
Music is good.
My ultimate dream: to have more than one person listen to a song. Another dream: To have a song listened to more than once. A Really BIG dream: to have a music sharing site that doesn't try to make a killing off the false hopes of the naive persons within the community, like this one. Or Soundcloud. Or Reverbnation. Or Bandcamp. Or...
Undo the corporate music industry, and make them pay for their crimes against humanity.
Maple Leaf Rag
I dig the millions of people just like me making music, free from the pressures of greed and capitalism, in their basements and garages.
Revolution is in the air.
Revolution is in the air.
Usually pretty good. Once at House of Blues in Myrtle Beach I had the flu and had to play the gig anyway. I didn't feel too good that night, and the bars are open until 4 in SC so it really sucked.
I see tons of musicians on sites like these, everybody posting, nobody listening. The reality is everybody needs to listen to each other and support each other. The music industry is crap, and sites like this one are feeding off the hopes and dreams of naive wanna-bes = not helpful, really. We all need to embrace innovation and the free thinkers and the people doing their own thing - they're our only hope.
It's the best one out there so far, still needs work IMO.
Naive wanna-bes doing copycat shit thinking they're gonna be the next big thing. Musicians these days are conforming to the industry standards, rather than having the industry conform to us. All we'd collectively have to do is tell the industry to fuck off, and quit buying label records, support local musicians and independents and the industry would eventually have to come around. Until then, say "hi" to the next Milli Vanilli.
Hell yes. I buy their music, I go to their shows, I spread their word. Shame on you if you aren't doing the same, you have no business in this business.
Money will buy you the promotion you will need in order to get window time with someone within the industry. LOL, no it won't - you can't even fucking buy your way in. We're not choosing our musicians, the industry is choosing them for us. face it.
