Hi, I’m FIRKAN. I write songs about love, nature and happiness. I started writing songs when I was 12. Bollywood music (old and new) and Hindi pop music (Lucky Ali, Shaan, Sonu Nigam), combined with English pop (Backstreet Boys, NSync) and Rock (Linkin Park, RHCP) created quite the musical mix as I grew up. I like to write about things I go through, things I’ve found interesting, and things I feel like talking or writing about. You could say my songs are very personal, and my hope is that somewhere in the stories that my songs tell, you will find yourself in bits and pieces too. What does “FIRKAN” mean? It’s a name I came up with. Seemed right. To me, it means “a soul that wants to fly away” It could mean anything to you. It’s also a Turkish name for a boy.
