Music brought me joy whilst growing up and still gives me joy now
Just to make music
People's attitudes
I Like It / Gerry And The Pacemakers
Del Amitri, Justin Currie, The Bible, Dawes, Thin Lizzy, Slade, Christine And The Queens
It changes on a daily basis, a phrase, a little riff, something I see, something I hear
The message changes with the listener's point of view I may write about one thing and they may hear it from a totally different view point
There really isn't a word or words to do it justice
It's always been a very skewed reality I think, when people say that It's not like a "proper job" they're right it isn't because there isn't any other job like it, if you were in it solely for the money you would have left it behind long ago. Improved? For me? I'm fine with it and all it's trials and tribulations
I think it's a very worthwhile entity, some people have less manners than others but then you get that in the pub, on the bus, in the street etc.
My own shortcomings
Yeah I'm very involved in my local scene both as a performer and as a fan. I attend gigs as often as I can when I'm not gigging myself and share locals gigs heavily on social media
I'm not sure Im the right person to ask, I'm very old school I just get out there gigging, recording ,writing, that's how I've always done it. I'm no millionaire but it's been good to me in it's own sweet, fickle way.
Julian Jones, Jack T Harper, Julia Waldron are three that spring to mind all from Sheffield
