Felz Da Don

Once you become fearless, you become limitless!

Blessings to you all, I am Felz Da Don, recording artist at Detrimental Records. I created this label to provide a platform, for me as an artist, to create music the way I want to create it. I know that all of us are unique and have our own styles, so why not be able to produce your expression as freely as possible to the world? Thats what I pride myself on. Creating music that can make an impact or resonate with the audience for years to come! With strong vocal presence, top notch lyrics, and a sound totally different from what you may be used to from rappers, I invite you to take a trip down memory lane as I bring the real essence of Hip Hop back to the forefront. Thank You all for investing your time in listening and I 100% guarantee that you will enjoy every minute of each song. Peace

What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music is Life to me. From the age of 11, I fell in love with the style, the enigma, the presence, the words, and the culture of Hip Hop. It has provided me an outlet to express myself in ways I haven't before and I will always love music for that. To be able to convey your thoughts to the world and have audiences from far and wide vibe with what you have created is the best feeling in the world. Makes you feel like you're finally doing right for yourself while helping others through whatever circumstances may be going on in life.

What is your music dream?

To become the Greatest Rapper Ever.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

The way we think. This plays a major role, not just in perception of ourselves, but from others as well. Our thought process can either mold us or break us.

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

It's so many to choose from, I can't really give a definite answer.

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

My favorites are Rakim, J. Cole, The Notorious B.I.G, Royce Da 5'9", Big L, Slick Rick, Busta Rhymes... this list could go on and on.

What inspires you to make music?

The feeling of knowing that your song may play an important part in the mood or emotions and mind state of any individual. Creating a positive outlook while also bringing forth awareness of every day experiences that we may be going through can go a long way and cause a lasting effect for the better.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

To remain and stay true to the Most High and yourself. Don't ever be afraid to step out on faith, invest in you, and follow your dreams or goals set by you. You can achieve anything you put your mind to.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

We all become nervous at some point, which is a common trait amongst us, but once the atmosphere is set and the mood is right, its amazing to see people interacting with you and singing along with you to the music you have creaed for them to enjoy. I love the moment. Its extremely heart warming.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

The time couldn't be sweeter. You have all the right platforms in place socially to get your music heard without relying on the conventional way of waiting for a record label to come and sign you. You can become your own corporation and achieve your goals faster, as long as you are willing to put in the work, to achieve the success you want. Improvements could be made in the choice of lyrics and lifestyle an artist may portray because of the effect you can tend to have on audiences. Other than that, it's all good.

What do you think of Drooble?

I appreciate the chance given to an artist, like me, to be able to present ourselves to the world in this manner, made easier by your site.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

Nothing basically. The Audience will either love your music or not love it. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and we have to grasp understanding of that again. Of course it would make you feel better if they do love it, but with every bright side, comes a dark side. You learn to live with it.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

Yes, of course. I like to see others trying to empower themselves through the expression. It's a good look and with music being so easily accessible now, it's a great thing. I share or listen to songs that catch my attention and provide feedback in anyway I could so that they can produce their music to their fullest potential.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

Presence, Self Awareness, Dedication, Thick Skin, and Charisma.
