Jam and see.
A Cream-like power trio covering songs as raw and psychedelic as possible.
Right now, all it comes to mind is Because by The Beatles.
I have a few to name: for his sound, i pick Jeff Beck. The guy has a genre of its own - it just don't have a name yet. For versatility, I choose John Mayer. He's like a 6-string chamaleon, being able to mimic the most iconic sounds throughout rock history. And lastly, for the energy, I pick the good ol' Zep. Those 3 hour long jam are my dream jam.
Nothing really. In fact, I'm always trying to run away from it. *laughs* There's this strange force - and I'm not the religious type of person - that keeps dragging me back. Every time I think of selling the guitar and dedicating myself to a different hobby, I'm faced with that kind of one-time opportunity that you'd be too dumb to pass.
When I compose something, I'm usually trying to resign myself about a certain subject. I like to use as example one of my track where the song pays tribute to the brazilian Tropicalia, but the lyrics say something like "I'm never gonna get to be like them, but hey, that's ok!" It makes me feel lighter and help me get through the day.
At first, I felt really anxious before the first chord. Now I just like to think that it's just me showing something cool to my friends.
That is a very controversial subject and I could tell you my personal experience, but I don't think that qualifies as the "reality of musicians", so I'll skip this one.
Not enough interaction.
Tendonitis. Right arm.
That depends on what you consider my "local scene". If you're talking about well estabilished carioca bands, then my answer is "no". I support the bands that mix blues and samba, the artists that mix theatral perfomances and music... I even support the local beggars playing a two string guitar whenever I can. *laughs* How? Well, buying their CDs, if they have any. Going to their concerts, tipping them... Whatever works.
He has to be a musician, a manager, a gear-tech, a promoter, an audio engineer and a unbalanced freak on top of that. No one is interested in reading about regular people with their beautiful compositions and average life. They want the character behind the desperate love song.
Facção Caipira is definitely something you must listen to. They managed to take the portuguese language (which has a very different intonation and sounding compared to english) and mix it with the blues. There's also this other band called Beach Combers. Their live performances are really something.
