Eric Dinwiddie

About Me

I'm a founding member and lifer in The Uptones, a popular band in the west coast of the USA. I've also played and recorded albums with The Fashion Slaves, Stiff Richards, Hobo, The Obliterati, and Matt Jaffe & the Distractions, most of which are available at iTunes, Spotify, etc. if you want to check them out. I love recording and writing and playing music and I'm glad to have the ability to share music more directly, with people around the world, than we could in the days before all these Internets and gizmos. As a kid I had the good fortune of learning from some great private guitar teachers in Berkeley, California, including a young Joe Satriani who taught many of us Berkeley guitarists in the late 1970's and early 80's before launching his solo career. As a songwriter I've written or co-written many of The Uptones songs, including our local radio hits Burning Sky, Out To Sea, and Get Out Of My Way. Get Out Of My Way was later covered by Rancid live and on their debut album. This led to me collaborating with Rancid on some more songs, including The 11th Hour, Outta My Mind, and Name. I have taught guitar privately for three decades, and am now available for guitar lessons through Drooble. Professionally I've been known as Eric Din, or by my full name Eric Dinwiddie, and my friends often just call me Din. OK I'll add to this later but that's a start! Cheers all, and happy holidaze :) Thanks for welcoming me to this community! Please feel free to drop me a line anytime.
