EL

Story

EL was formed in Tempe, AZ in 2014. It is comprised of Jason Prichard (Drums/Lead Vocals), John Banks (Guitar/Backing Vocals), Justin Beemer (Guitar/Synth), & Samuel Lersch (Bass). All members previously worked together in various bands (Daughters of Fission, Fred Green & Ziroh). Their debut release, the 'Elusion' Ep, was recorded/engineered/produced by Ralph Patlan in 2014. It received a good amount of critical acclaim and the initial run of physical Cd's sold out quickly. The followup album 'Elegy' was also completed with Ralph and should be released in early 2020.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

Well, as long as you're in the game for the right reason it doesn't really matter what someone else's subjective take on reality is. Everything can always be improved & just takes intention and action, simple.

What do you think of Drooble?

It's a pretty cool platform, reminds me of Garageband.com back in the day with the reviews & community. Dig the worldwide reach it offers.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

People that expect you to do shows, etc. for free. I mean, yes we do love playing, but we've also spent countless years honing our musical chops and the time and effort put in to writing, recording and rehearsing songs obviously doesn't get taken into account. Otherwise, these situations would be far more rare than they actually are.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

We're active participants in our local scene, regularly supporting our fellow local bands and artists.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?
