In 2016 the Los Angeles based Doug C and the Blacklisted traveled over 15,000 miles, performing 150 shows nationally at most of the major outdoor car shows and festivals like Rockabilly Reunion Lake Havasu AZ, Hillbilly Robot, San Francisco, CA Ink N Iron Nashville with Merle Haggard, Asleep at the Wheel, Wanda Jackson, Reverend Horton Heat, to a variety of club dates with bands like Big Sandy, The Delta Bombers, Rhythm Shakers. What is music to you? What does it give you?

As an artist it's a great way to connect with people and make them happy and celebrate life! As a music fan it's an endless world of ideas, thoughts and expression!

To play in front of as many people as possible!

I love entertaining people!

Fun!

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

I love entertaining people, but l'm more interested in how the audience is feeling. It's a relationship based more on giving than taking.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

I'm not worried about the reality of other musicians at all. I'm more focused on personally getting better and entertaining as many people as I can each night. I'm intersted in improving my game not judging other artists.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

Playing music is great, the money and the business not so much.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

I support local artists in my scene by putting them on my shows and offering contacts.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

These days, you have to wear all the hats! The goal is to be a good song writer, good engineer and producer, have a good understanding of the music business, good with social media, good with graphics, and above all a great entertainer and performer.
