Doug Brockett

Story

I was the founding member and guitarist / singer for The Rocket Band, founded in 1995 as an original blues trio as a way to explore my original music. The band then went on to win top honors at The Triangle Blues Society annual showcase in Carrboro, NC. with this original music. After that the The Rocket Band recorded a CD of all that original music titled Ground Zero as well as a live CD called Stage to Stage where the band expanded into a quartet and added even more original music, as well as letting you hear the live versions! Playing live was our real element indeed! The band also logged numerous hours of live performance time all over the state of North Carolina, and South East, and Southern regions. But as it seems all good things come to an end as did The Rocket Band. So now I'm off on my own after taking a break (if you can ever really do that with music) and saw this site as a way to build back momentum and also showcase my music again, as well as venture into new areas with it. I love to play but I also love to write, and that's where y'all come in. I need your feed back, and that energy again that only comes with sharing music with someone. Give the songs a listen and be on the look out for more to come. I hope to hear from everyone.
