METRO CINEMA

Friends, musicians, producers, and artists alike...

Merrily here to share my love and passion for music and my journey centered around it thus far. I'd love for you to get to know me through my music because it all speaks volumes on how I feel about life, love, spirituality and such. Think of all of my songs as a way to express myself through "profile".

What is music to you? What does it give you?

I can't quite decide where I want to be in the world of music. I'm all over the map. A lot of my songs on the profile show that, and even then, that's just a preview of the many avenues I've taken in the past. Music to me, is just that. As a artist, you come to appreciate all forms of music even if you don't like that certain type of music. You appreciate it still. You look at the complexities in it and the simplicities and you draw inspiration from it all. So, to call yourself one thing or another is either limiting yourself, or it's limiting others, mostly both. It's like saying, I got hired to be a dishwasher, but I don't want to "prep-cook", or even do some cooking myself. You have to open yourself up to different avenues, that's the beauty of music in and of itself. Music gives me a sense of peace, an escape from harsh realities that is life's constant blows that are dealt.

What is your music dream?

It used to be about getting noticed, becoming loved globally, but really, it's about being able to keep doing what I love the most in life, making music and doing this until I no longer can, share it with people who have the same love and passion and who appreciate fine art :)

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

If people had more discipline, spirit, kindness, and list of other moral fibers that make for a genuine human being, I'd say that's where you would start. I am hoping that with my music, I can imbue some of that spirit and kindness. I'm not like the other artists and fans out there, I actually care a great deal about others and want to stay pure in my craft as well as support others who do too.

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

I use to jam out to a tape cassette of "The Clash" called "Combat Rock" and it was really intriguing for a boy of the age of 11 lol.

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

So so many, but I would have to say off the top of my head, Prince, Sevendust, Fleet Foxes, Polarity, EDX, Carl Cox, Chace, Marshmello, Saint Pepsi/Skylar Spence, Coyote Kisses, Breaking Benjamin, Deftones, Tool, CRUSHED, Freedom Level, Bleeker, to name a few

What inspires you to make music?

Everything :)

What is the message you want to send with your music?

That it's alright...chill out, listen to my music...feel the vibes, dance, move around or something lol.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

I'm okay lol

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

Totally down the wrong path sadly. Motive and deed just isn't what it use to be in the music scene. We see a lot of selfishness, covetousness, greed, hate, pride and ego, blasphemy, slander, and it's all glorified and makes the money....you can't change the world but, you can separate yourself and choose to not be like that.

What do you think of Drooble?

It's pretty cool

What frustrates you most as a musician?

That I can sit here and spend hours every single day working at all my music and yet there are those that are a success over night seemingly and they get famous and they act like a God because they're rich and loved...that's not what I'm about. As a musician I work hard at what I do, but it's not for the sheer glory and fame, it's because it's an outlet and I want to create something I love and that other may love given the right audience and I haven't found that audience yet.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

Oh yes, I"m very supportive. I currently support some buddies of mine in the bands Freedom Level, RMRS, Televangelist, Polarity (Ontario-based rock band actually), Steps In March, Erase The Frontier

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

Well, the masses are selling their music and doing usually whatever is necessary and that means selling yourself. If they don't sell themselves and they're successful, it's because of who they know, plain and simple.

Share some awesome artists that we’ve never heard of.

Freedom Level, RMRS, Televangelist, Polarity (Ontario-based rock band actually), Steps In March, Erase The Frontier
