Dennis is 36 years old, from Portland Oregon, and currently resides in Washougal, Washington. He has been playing music for almost 28 years and has toured across half the country playing old style country music. At the age of 9 he started with percussion, and at the age of 18 he moved to Charlotte, NC, where bought his first guitar. There, he was introduced to bluegrass music, and became infatuated with the country music sound that has continued to grow with his style. Soon after coming back to the northwest, he became a traveling construction worker that kept him on the road for 10 years. He eventually left work to start writing music and joined a touring country act, which took him up and down the west coast, and to every state on the way to the Stockyards in Fort Worth, Texas and back. Dennis has an extraordinary way of being able to not only play by ear, but has the ability to pick up virtually any instrument and figure out how to play it; and play it well. He's left-handed but plays right-handed guitar; which attributes to a certain style of playing that is hard to duplicate. He currently composes, and records all his own work, as well as plays every instrument; but is very interested in finding people to join in to help keep this style of music going. He is a very humble musician that loves collaborating with other players in order to try and find a unique and original sound; as well as share whatever he can to help others be able to better themselves. His dream has always been to play professionally; and he has always been driven to keep the music alive inside, regardless of what roadblocks life tries to throw in his way. Some of his notable influences are Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Chris Stapleton, Whitey Morgan, Guns & Roses, Marshall Tucker Band, and Lynyrd Skynyrd; among many others. After his Fiancé and two beautiful daughters entered his life, he's taken a 6 year break away from playing shows as well as recording in order to focus on trying to be the best father he can be. They've grown enough now to enable Dennis to jump back in to share the music he's been holding in during that time. He is currently working to put together an album, of which he hopes to have finished within the next few months.
Music has always been a part of me. I’ve found it always gives me the kind of challenges that keep me interested and involved.
