Not Another Red Light

Story

Not Another Red Light is fueled by both boredom and obsession. Constructed out of broken hearts, unfinished conversations, diminishing friendships, piles of incriminating notebooks, and... a healthy disinterest in sports. Then strung together with a few chords and melodies. We hope you like it.

What is music to you? What does it give you?

Well, that's a hard one. But it's definitely NOT EDM, and all this easily fabricated, throw away crap that is an insult to my ears. It gives me a sense of belonging and purpose. And sometimes... goosebumps.

What is your music dream?

Well, when I was in jr. high it was to be Vince Neil. In the 90's it was to sound like Chris Cornell. Now... to just be myself.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

That's a bit heavy for a music interview, and I'm not John Lennon. But I'd start with a lot more personal interaction, music HAS to be purchased to be heard and flogging parents who let their children use ipads at the dinner table.

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

One song? that's too hard. Let's go with record. Probably Motley Crue's Shout At the Devil. Yeah.... What can I say? I was a metal head kid. I loved that record.

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

Ray Lamontagne, Pink Floyd, the Posies, Soundgarden, Norah Jones, Norma jean, Elliott Smith, Thrice, Nirvana, Iron Maiden, the Misfits.

What inspires you to make music?

usually really dark thoughts that I should be sharing with a shrink.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

No message. Just me sharing with whoever will listen.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

I can barely remember, now. Its been a while.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

It doesn't look very pretty.

What do you think of Drooble?

Well..... do we really need another online "community"? I'm not sure I see the benefit, yet. But the people seem nice.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

People who think we're wasting our time unless we're making money at it. And people who don't pay money for it. :)

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

If A good band plays in town, I go. And I still buy music.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

If I knew that, would I be here?!
