David Mbombo Monse, alternatively known as Dee Monse is a recording artist, songwriter, rapper & emcee from Kinshasa, DR Congo was born in May 1994. He moved to Cape Town, South Africa, with his family at the age of twelve. Dee Monse started rapping and developing his lyrical talent from the age of fourteen after leaving his country of birth due to an internal civil war. He is driven by motivation and it was not long before his original style set him apart as a recognisable talent. Dee Monse joined Volcanic Music Entertainment in 2012, an independent hip hop group based in Cape Town and is bound to release his first Mixtape, “The Introduction” in 2014. In his spare time, Dee Monse enjoys spending time with his family, being involved in hometown community initiatives, and playing basketball or soccer. Dee Monse is currently working on his debut album project, which will be completed in 2015. In the future you can expect many great things to come from this young creative talent with his current role to help expand Volcanic's Hip Hop influence across Africa and bring it to the forefront so the people of the continent can benefit eventually contributing to increased equality. Dee Monse is a young upcoming international class hip hop rapper from DRC based in CPT. At the tender age of 21 Dee Monse still feels he has more to learn as an artist but what makes Dee Monse different to your average rapper is his unique voice, flow and English/French lyrics.
