Dean Nookadu, pianist and piano teacher, studied music in Mauritius, in the United States and in Europe. His quest for excellence led him to participate in various music festivals in the world. Dean Nookadu performs in a variety of styles and genres ranging from Classical music, Contemporary World Music and Jazz The career of Dean Nookadu progresses today at two levels: classical music and jazz. After ten years of experiments and exploration in world fusion music as well as a concert pianist and lyric singers’ accompanist, Dean founded the Dean Nookadu Quartet with Nel Bucktowar on Saxophone, Denis Serret on Bass Jim Bachun on Drums and Dean Nookadu- on Piano. This quartet, proposes original songs and arrangements of standards developed from the melodic and rythmic idioms of the traditional music of the Indian Ocean Islands
