Currently playing full time for Resistful Misfit, A high energy original rock band, playing Denver Metro area clubs and venues. Keeping in the realms of Rock, Blues, and Funk with a touch of Rockabilly. Loud and lawless - true rockin' stage presence and showmanship. I've been playing percussion since I was 4. I've also picked up wind (flute, piccolo, recorder), and reed (sax). I've never played strings though. I love percussion and have only just started stretching my limits and writing lyrics and singing them. I've played in bands that ranged in genre's from acoustic blues, christian rock, punk, ska and progressive rock. The only thing I haven't tried my hand at is rap, and only because that's mostly electronic or no enjoyable to me. On top of all that I'm a US Army veteran and a father of 6 fantastic children
Music is part of my daily therapy. I have what I call my M&M's. Music and Martial arts. As long as I have my M&M's, I can get through any day. Music has also been a means of common ground with my family. My children have all taken up music in one form or another, and without any prompting from me. My youngest son taking up Violin, which has totally blown me away.
To get my/our original music out there for more to enjoy - a generic answer right? I keep my dreams simple right now.... I'd love to just make a living playing music. Nothing grandiose... just to make what I make as an engineer would be a great start.
Change starts at home. There are some things that my parents taught me, my father in particular, that I've tried to pass on to my children. Having discussions on morals and values, and how to disagree with each other and still love one another.
Your mama don't dance by Loggins and Massena. I still remember singing this from the back seat of the station wagon. The whole car just swayin, as we all sang along... my dad nailing that bass part.
Jeff Beck, In This Moment, Black Sabbath, Uriah Heap, Led Zeppelin, Robin Trower, Johnny and Edgar Winter; Scatterbrain,
Each and every moment on this big blue marble.... this tiny spec in the grand scheme of the universe. Oh the vastness of it all!
That's OK to wear your heart on your sleeve... That it's OK to be different, live your dreams, just respect one another as you do it.
Amazing and very much alive!
Club owners not giving musicians their due. Especially non cover bands!
I think the concept is a great idea. It's why I signed up in the first place! Now I'm trying to do my part in helping it grow.
Not having enough time to load in or out of a gig...
As much as possible, by going to shows and engaging on social media.
An amazing amount of patience
LOL how do I know what you haven't heard of!? ok, how about... THE GROAN MEN!
