What is music to you? What does it give you?

An entire world to explore, and create. I am mostly interested in instrumental music, not so important what genre as long as it has a certain complexity. I prefer composed music over improvised, although I like an element of that in the playing. I am attracted to how simple elements and short melodies can be combined and varied; i.e., an element of mathematics. It is not just random that I am fascinated by some classical composers and e. g., the longer instrumental pieces by M. Oldfield. In particular, I have noted that music I tend to become most attached to wasn't obvious at the first listening, but rather did grow on me. So, I guess I nowadays am very open to vague, intriging, non-standard stuff, where the main points might emerge later deep into the tracks. Like Sibelius 7th Symphony, with it's enormous but subtle beauty revealing itself only to the listener taking the full ride into the 5th minute of the first movement: a hidden treasure, no sign saying "this is it!". That is what I seek, those kind of secret diamonds, far away from the charts...

What is your music dream?

No particular, I simply go on doing what I must: play, and compose.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

Stopping AI systems from flooding you with "More of what you like". And, of course, Peace on Earth.

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

No particular. My taste was junk at the time.

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

J.S. Bach. I keep returning to his 4 suites for guitar (well, lute), amazing monumental music. So much else, too much to mention

What inspires you to make music?

Spare time: if nothing else going on, I switch on the power.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

No messages. I make music for my own sake. Because a strong inner drive to do so. It is like baking your own bread.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

Prefer to play alone.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

What do you think of Drooble?

Promising, now when SC became totally flatlined after removing the "Group" feature

What frustrates you most as a musician?

Pain from too much practicing. I get it when I need it the least...

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

I don't think 'locally', I couldn't care less: I am a world citizen.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

How about real quality?

Share some awesome artists that we’ve never heard of.
