Davion D. Marshall who we all know as “Dave B The Prince”, the Prince of Los Angeles, the city where it all begun. His artistry has developed and gains support from his city, to eventually other states like Florida, Texas and Atlanta as well. Dave B utilizes the skills he has practiced since a child to keep consistency for today the year 2013. Being labeled, as the “Prince” of the city is the only deserving title, my city has carried my endeavors; so it is only right that now I carry my city and it has been this way since the year 2000. Inspired at the age of 9 and knowing that this was life itself. Starting playing instruments, singing and writing, growing up in the church instilled the beginner’s knowledge needed. Listening to Lil Wayne, Ludacris, Cassidy, the freestyle skill of KRS1 my fire was sparked. I knew that if I tried my best I could one day be as great, and greater then them an become a #1 artist. By using those inspiring musicians to study, molded me to be a “Number One Artist”.Not only experiencing what Los Angeles has to offer, becoming an internationally known artist made it so surreal once traveling half way across the world being sponsored by “Vlado Footwear”, representing for them in Beijing China. A dream coming true right before my eyes, just knowing continuing in this pursuit is the right path. Rapping and performing in events such as Hip Hop international held in Vegas. Gallery 1548, Dave and Big Freez killed the show with a 30 min none stop dancing and rapping performance. All sponsored and paid for by Ten01 Clothing. Club Belasco was another stop on the list of shows. Headlining the show Dave B The Prince had the house packed. Club Lyric was a callab show with Marc Pain and Big Freez, Dave B didn’t show his rap skills, but his super star dance moves were in effect. Club Action, Valdo show down LA 4, Cinco de Mayo BET Blaze the stage, 106 & park BET awards, to name a few more. A MC and All Around Entertainer is what Dave B The Prince is. What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music to me is my everything music is the heartbeat to my buddy whenever I am making music that is when I feel like I am me at my highest potential I am me truly and honestly and that’s what life is about being able to be you being able to live in express yourself in the best possible for him to be the best possible you and that’s with Music gives me

My dream of music is to be one of the most respected hip-hop lyricist in the game in for my generation

What inspires you to make music?

God inspires me he gave me this great gift and I do it above average that inspires me every day to keep going into inspire someone else to use their gift

What is the message you want to send with your music?

The message I want to send in my music is that I have made it out of our situations that I have been in not made it out of the hood or made it from my area but made it through trials and tribulations and that shows in my music express my downfalls in my attributes and I’m OK with it and I want people to realize that it’s OK to be you and you don’t have to strive to be anyone else but yourself

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

When I’m performing in front of an audience there is no better feeling the adrenaline rushing the music in my ears the people looking all that pressure turned me into a diamond and that’s where I shine the most

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

A lot of these new rappers today only talk about guns everybody has a gun and guns didn’t stop when they made yours so to me it really doesn’t matter I’m more focused on content and people need to get back to having real talent and not just talking over a good beat

What frustrates you most as a musician?

As a musician the thing that frustrates me the mostIs how a lot of these people do not have a lot of talent but they somehow managed to make all this money they need to make way for the talent and give that money to the people that deserve it not someone that just decides I want to make a nursery rhyme and Call it music

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

Most definitely support every artist coming up in every artist that I know that has made it in the industry already I’m a fan of good music and good people

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

The thing to always have is patience being able to contact your audience and take constructive criticism knowing how to bounce back from a comment that you didn’t necessarily like knowing how to adapt to a beat and not wrapping the same on every song or coming out every song the same
