I am an alto singer-songwriter from Bulgaria who makes bluesy music, tinged with the raw rust of grunge, and the authentic atmosphere of folk music, woven around dark lyrics. (subscribe to my mailing list on www.damyana.net for a free demo download and info on the upcoming EP) I draw inspiration from stuff as diverse as Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam to P J Harvey, Morphine, Steven Wilson and Opeth. I started out as a bass player; being an architecture student, I like to create (musical or otherwise) spaces that people may choose to inhabit and interact with, creating harmonious connections or uncovering hidden things. I have been writing and performing for a couple of years. With a number of demos behind me, as well as band collaborations and underground gigs (in the UK and Bulgaria), currently recording an EP.
