Experienced musician, engineer, producer, writer, arranger, videographer, photographer, digital artist, of many years. Played in various bands, but these days prefer working in my home studio recording, creating etc. Never could get my voice to sound any good, so prefer to work with those that can sing a bit. Looking for interesting artist to remotely collaborate with. Must be able to record own vocals. Don't care about genres. My most recent project "Cuthbert" https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCyhFVhM2312oBGpf6buBIrg has come to a halt due to covid. But it'll give you an idea about what kind of stuff I do, and my eclectic tastes. I play guitar so often like to throw in rock elements/aspects. I also love stuff that grooves, so it's usually got some dancability too.
It's what I do. If I go a week without playing guitar, or creating/working on something, I get addiction withdrawl symptoms. Music for me is an art medium, and as such, is something that should have it's boundaries continually explored and stretched, as long as it remains 'musical'. Oh, and it has to be more than a beat and a synthetic autotune vocal for me to get excited about it.
Just some exposure and listener/viewer appreciation. Have my music featured in TV Series/Film Otherwise just doing what I enjoy doing.
I'd replace modern respect for 'attitude' with respect for difference.
So many, difficult to choose.
David Bowie (all eras). Zepplin, Suede, Placebo, The Stooges, Early Talking Heads. Marilyn Manson, The Cure, Massive Attack ....... so many more. 21st Century - Artic Monkeys, Clutch. Common 'themes' creative, experimental and intelligent.
Anything, everything, primordial urge etc.
Open your mind to new ideas - weird can be fun !
Not planning on doing live shows for now. But I never say never.
When anything that has a guitar in it somewhere is classed as "Rock", and music has been dropped as a school subject, what do I know ? A new John Peel ?
Early days. Seems like a good idea. Cost/benefit will be the indicator for me.
What little interest the majority have for new music. It seems most just want to just hear their favorite songs over and over again ! .... and the younger generation ?? do they have any interest outside of Rap and RnB ??
How indeed, small venues all but gone now ! (UK by the way)
No idea ! I guess don't produce music that is outside the mainstream or crosses genres ........... like I do.
Cuthbert of course ! I listen to Rock Radio UK - especially the Independance Rocks show - so many fantastic new artists !
