Story

I'm a stay at home mom who was previously a working mom and is now going a bit stir crazy! I'm 25 and have been married for six years. We have two kids; a four year old daughter and an 8 month old son. I lost my mom to cancer back in 2013 when I graduated high school and that is when my whole world started falling apart. My passion for music ran rampant all during my school years and has recently become a pursuit in career terms. Where it will take me, I have no idea, but I am going for it with an open mind. Thanks for reading!

What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music is my life. It gives me strength when I'm weak, hope when I'm hopeless, and the will to go on in dark times.

What is your music dream?

My dream as a musician is to help others feel and heal their current worries and struggles. If we can't face it, then we can't walk away from it. Once we discover it, then the real healing can begin.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

If I could change the world it would begin with sharing the understanding to people that imperfections aren't something to shame or hide away and sulk about. None of us are perfect, so why do we all try so hard to be?

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

The most memorable song from my childhood was probably Because of You by Kelly Clarkson. It really spoke to me during a time when I knew nothing but fear. In fact, I still struggle with that today.

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

My favorite artists include Billie Eilish, Selena Gomez, old school Avril Lavigne and Kelly Clarkson, Julia Michael's, Khalid, Post Malone, and old school Eminem. Also Tom Waitts, The Beatles, and Train. Want me to keep going?

What inspires you to make music?

My love for creativity and ability to really empathize with others has sparked my love for music at a very young age. Writing lyrics is also a great way to vent my feelings when they overwhelm me, as they often do!

What is the message you want to send with your music?

With my music I want to tell people: You are okay! It is going to be okay! I don't care if you are addicted to drugs, realizing you have abusive habits or are reluctant to face an abuser, or if you appear perfect to the world and are daily holding in your flaws and dying to find real connection with someone. We all are imperfect and we all just want to share love and respect relationships with others. Who doesn't want that?? I want to, with my music, counsel people in a way anyone can understand. Sometimes all we need is a connection.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

When I perform and hear and see other's reactions to my music, I feel on top of the world. I know that someone is going to "get this shit" and relate to it. I want to know I made someone say "It feels good to know I'm not alone."

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

The musicians reality today is conformity to the industry for profit. Lyrics and music are written and performed on the basis of making fans and generating income. It sadly has been made into a business style environment. Music should have never been brought to such an extent of a mindset to manufacture. It is a beautiful thing when music is original and pure.

What do you think of Drooble?

I am just discovering Drooble for the first time in my life. I am excited to check out all of its benefits and to extend a greeting to other musicians around me!

What frustrates you most as a musician?

I am most frustrated by lack of words that will capture the way I feel in a very simple sense. Feelings are more complex than that. In writing a song, the sound along with the words can become those complex feelings in action. It is finding the perfect way to capture them that frustrates me most.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

I am really just starting off in my music career. I am open to supporting local talent as well as making acquaintances of my own! I think support is vital for musicians, and we should all appreciate that need in one another's music careers.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

If you are going for numbers, then I would advise any musician to stick with cliche lyrics and predictability in their music. That stuff sells in today's music world. But are numbers really that important?

Share some awesome artists that we’ve never heard of.

Gemma Hayes, Eric Hutchinson, Sky Eats Airplane (barely listened to them but I remember they had some cool sounding techno in their breakdowns!), Bon Iver..
