DJ Diabeats

Diabeats' is the funky diabetic turntablist and producer hailing from Virginia, now based out of Colorado. With almost a decade of mixing music under his belt and several years of learning production, Diabeats' is bringing a new intimate, yet electrifying energy & sound to the stage, with several live aspects incorporated into each set. Diabeats' is not bound to any genre however he likes to stick to elements of heavy bass and funky rhythmic grooves with a twist of old school Hip Hop. He currently holds several residencies at night clubs and bars across the ski towns of Summit County, CO, and has performed alongside touring electronic music acts such as Minnesota, SoDown, Eliot Lipp, Random Rab and Dillon Francis across the span of his career. Diabeats' production level has spiked exponentially in the last year and he's starting to get the attention of fellow artists and followers across the Denver music scene, this momentum is only increasing as he continues to collaborate and put out more original music.

What is music to you? What does it give you?

to me, music is expression, it’s expression of how I might be feeling or what I might be going through at that moment in life. It gives me a look into the lives of those who also make music.

What is your music dream?

do be completely financially successful just off of music, and to one day play at venues like Red Rocks, Ibiza and other major venues across the globe

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

climate change and cleaning up the oceans

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

Eruption by Eddie Van Halen

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

I really enjoy the sounds of Tycho and Thievery Corporation

What inspires you to make music?

experiences, travel and other artists !

What is the message you want to send with your music?

that anything is possible

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

like a more evolved version of myself

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

I think it could be more of a community with artists helping bring other artists up, rather than more of a competition vibe.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

tedious production tasks haha, and building press kits ?

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

yes! I work security shifts at our local music venue in Frisco, as well as attending shows here for other artists and bands too, and pay the damn cover charge lol

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

if you’re music is good, and you are able to own your stage presence and shine, you will be heard by lots of people in time, just don’t give up ;)
