What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music is a huge part of my life. I've been a professional since 1972 as a singer, songwriter, and a trombonist.

What is your music dream?

Producing songs for TV and Motion Pictures and producing for singers.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

People get along, work together, enjoy life.

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

Hound Dog

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

Adelle, Christina Aguilera, Gino Vannelli, Al Jarreau, Ed Sheeran, Pink, Beyonce, Bruno Mars, Jacob Collier, Ea rth Wind and Fire, Tower of Power, Chick Corea, Stanley Clarke, Maynard Ferguson, Doc Severinsen, Arturo Sandoval

What inspires you to make music?

The pleasure of creating. It is fun or me to write and to experiment with all aspects of music.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

Life can be fun. Let's enjoy.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

I feel like I am taking people away from problems and into a place that is safe, enjoyable, uplifting, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to do this. I feel most alive on stage.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

The musicians' reality is everywhere and everything. It is every emotion. Some need improvement in outlook, perhaps but others are just fine the way they are. Everyone has something to offer in a unique way.

What do you think of Drooble?

I am exploring Drooble. It is interesting, so far.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

Marketing and exposure is frustrating to accomplish.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

My local scene is in a place where you can find buildings from the 1200s. It is also very insular. If you were not born here, you will never be accepted as those who were. In some ways it is very old here and there are many brass bands which play, especially at carnival. Sometimes there is something that they call jazz but it is quite different than it is in America, where it originated. I try to see things in the area but the greats seldom, if ever come here.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

Excellence, something unique.

Share some awesome artists that we’ve never heard of.

Jacob Collier, maybe.
