What is music to you? What does it give you?

Music is a form of expression. It's much like a novel or a screenplay, only it's set to music. The music creates the mood. The words convey the message. It gives us a way of saying collectively what we want to say as a band. Not necessarily through an individual song, but through a body of work.

What is your music dream?

To become a household name.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

We're not really out to change the world. We're all about painting it as it is, warts and all.

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

Reminiscing by Little River Band. I remember where I was when I first heard it.

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

The Beatles, ELO, Led Zeppelin, Spin Doctors, John Mayer

What inspires you to make music?

Inspiration comes at odd times, usually in dreams. I'm inspired to create, even if I'm the only one who will ever hear it.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

Fun. Happiness. We want you to leave each song with a smile on your face.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

It's been so long we don't really remember.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

The reality is listening is so splintered. It's difficult to make a decent living like you used to be able to. On the other hand, there are now so many outlets available that anyone who wants to make music can get it out to a broader audience, and that's really what it's all about.

What do you think of Drooble?

Well, we're new here, but we really like it. We especially like the reviews. We're audience-testing our new tracks here before we release them because we're getting such useful feedback. It's like a focus group, but with real musicians who can offer constructive criticism.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

Lyrics. The music comes pretty easy. It's the lyrics that are hard. It's much like giving birth. It's very difficult and very painful, but it's the most rewarding thing you'll ever do.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

To be honest, we haven't gotten out much because of COVID. What we have done is post about acts we've come across and really like. An artist should never be afraid to compliment another artist.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

Tenacity. It takes a lot of product before you reach critical mass. Too many artists give up before they hit their groove. You have to keep pounding out quality product. Eventually somebody notices.

Share some awesome artists that we’ve never heard of.

Aubrey Wollett. She's a country artist who really has a great sound. Diane Shaw. She's a soul singer from the UK. Really love her style. James Hunter Six. Another UK act with a soulful sound. James apparently smokes like a freight train, but it gives his voice a really great quality. Wouldn't recommend smoking, you youngsters out there, but it works for James.
