I walked away from the established order and towards creative chaos. I shut off the TV and Turned on my brain to find that i really LOVE music and Designing Graphics, simply for the love of it. Nothing more than that. If people like my music it is a bonus to an already successful journey.
Music is a passion, it gives me the ability to make other peoples day better, perhaps even inspire them to take up music as a hobby.
To produce more joy than tracks and make more of a difference in the lives of others than money.
Myself! I could never expect to change the world if I first have not aligned myself with the change I would like to see in the world. That being said, I have made exponential progress in making the appropriate change within myself over the past 29 months. For instance, I have humbled myself and allowed humility to be a large part of who I am. Where as before, I would have described myself as one of the most manipulative narcissist I knew.
He's Got the Whole World in His Hands
I honestly have no favorites. For me, choosing a few artist would limit me. I would create a bias and possibly neglect a truly great artist because of the bias I created by choosing only some when I can enjoy them all equally and without projecting my insecurities or envy into a part of my life where I need to be as positive and open as possible. My creativity depends on my ability to take criticism and use it to my advantage. I can't achieve that if I believe my perspective is the reality in which the artist should appeal to.
Love! It is as simple as that one 4 letter word.
I want to inspire others to be creative, to enjoy their passions within acceptable standards. I would like to experience the knowledge that my music made just one persons moment better than the one before it and if possible, remembered for the moments that are not so enjoyable. So that they could at least grasp on to a sliver I'd joy in a dark, lonely, or aggressive place.
Like they are performing in front of me!
I worry about only what I can improve. I do not pretend to know enough about this industry to begin setting policy or handing out suggestions to those who have attained their success by knowing more than me about how to answer this question. I have one mission with my music and it is to inspire. Not to politicize, provoke, nor marginalize.

When I forget a beat or melody I had in my head and then can't put it down when I want.
I do not have a local scene. But if I did, I would support the artist as much as possible.
Well from my experience, I am only just now being asked to brand myself before an offer is made. The Label equated it to selling my own tickets. So I would say, Passion. Doing this for any other reason will result in failure. Possibly short term success but long term it will catch up and then so does your reality and then choices must be made. If you are not willing to lose evwrything you have MORE THAN ONCE for something you are in love with, not willing to go hungry a couple days to many out of a week, if you are not willing to accept that you may never get your shot or that you are simply not good enough to chance that shot. Then you will never have your music, art, movie, anything you produce viewed by more than a handful of people you know. Ones who probably care less than those you did not reach.
