Chad Henderson

Story

Drums were my first passion. I will always be a drummer more than anything else. I’m deeply influenced by jazz, particularly post 60s bebop like Sonny Rollins, Booker Little, John Coltrane, Chet Baker, Charlie Parker, Bill Evans, Charles Mingus, Andy much more and modern jazz like Joshua Redman, The Bad Plus, Brian Blade, Antonio Sanchez, Brad Mehldau, Mellisa Aldana, Ralph Peterson, and many more. Outside the Jazz realm, I love indie/folk or whatever you wanna call it I guess. Bands like Tame Impala, Still Corners, Castlebeat, Current Joys and modern folk like Iron and Wine, The Paper Kites, and Gregory Alan Isakov. I’m a composer.... I love writing music diverse in genre and I try to be unique. My main genres are indie/rock, Jazz, and Film Scores. I attended UCO for 1 year as a Jazz Studies Major, in High School I was a 6 time All-State Band member, Jazz All State drummer my senior year, and I participated in TU’s Jazz Program for one semester as a member of Jazz Big Band 2, Jazz guitar Ensemble, Jazz combo 1 and Jazz combo 2. I can read music proficiently and have done quite a lot of drum set transcription work. In the most concise terms: I love Music. If you want to know more about me, just message me. -Chad Lee Henderson
