Broken Mirror

Bio

Broken Mirror is an Australian electronic/synth-pop producer. His work includes Hex, X, and an upcoming album named Animal. In 2019, Broken Mirror's track By My Side was featured on the Brisbane community radio show, the In Bloom Show. On Broken Mirror's upcoming album, Animal, all songs including the singles that are currently out will donate 50% of the proceeds to the RSPCA and Minus18. Broken Mirror describes himself as an inspired and driven person. Although his previous work isn't the best, he has become more and more serious, and has begun creating what he describes as 'music, not tracks'. He is not signed to any labels (if any labels see this hmu), and has released all his music under his own label, fittingly titled Broken Mirror Music. Broken Mirror has a unique style, in which his music is sung by a Vocaloid®.

What is music to you? What does it give you?

To me, music is a sort of emotional release. It gives me great joy to listen to.

What is your music dream?

My music dream is to make it big in the music world, and to be able to get all my money from music and not from a seperate job.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

If I could change the world, I would start by making oil in America so they don't get greedy and steal from others

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

My most memorable song from my childhood is probably mr. brightside by the killers.

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

My favourite musical artists are Twenty One Pilots, Troye Sivan, San Holo, Lorde, and Linkin Park.

What inspires you to make music?

I get inspired from emotions that I feel throughout the day. I also get inspired when I hear other's music.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

I want to send the message to feel without apology. I want people to listen to my music and relate with what I have to say.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

I feel energized, although slightly anxious at the start.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

The musicians' reality today is utter shit (excuse my pottymouth). Musicians make no money off of a job that requires a lot of time. Painters are given tonnes of money for pieces, but musicians are given less than a cent per stream. This needs to be fixed.

What do you think of Drooble?

Drooble is a pretty cool service.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

Like I said earlier, MUSICIANS GET NO MONEY!!!

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

My local scene isn't really my type of music, but the aura coming from the fanbases are incredible. Festivals make me feel at home, because everyone is so considerate.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

Musicians should be making decent, unique, music.

Share some awesome artists that we’ve never heard of.

Jaron, dnm., Aevi, Astrale.
