My name is Brian Douglas. I have been playing for the last 46 years. I listen to most genres but mostly Jazz, Classical, Neo Classical, eclectic, and Fusion. My style of of playing and composition reflect that. My latest project is the B C D Music Project. The project is a compilation of original material that I am able to replicate in live performance. In the future, different instrumentation will be added. Please visit my website at www.bcdmusicproject.com.
Music is the thread that ties cultures and people together. It is a common ground and universal language. It can bring people together in ways the world can not. Hopefully, that thread brings love and joy in the celebration of life. It is one of the greatest gifts from God and has great power. We need to use that power wisley and use this powerful platform to bring people together. Life is short and made better with music.
My music dream is to be the best that I can be, to play with great musicians, and to play venues that people find joy in what I create and to be able to escape thier cares and wories for that moment. To write music that is out of the box and to change the paradigm. To create a sonic painting or soundscape that stretches the imagination and takes people to a place where they might have not gone before. And in edoing so, be able to continue to make a living.
Answering would involve talking politics. I don't think it proper for this site.
In the summer time by Mongo Jerry.
Artist that promote abstract thought through their music. The ones that take you to a place that you wuoldn't have otherwise gone. The ones that create a wonderful Soundscape.
I was born to do it.
Peace and Joy
Like where I'm supposed to be
I think that musicians have more tools now that they ever did. With music streaming, I think that the best way to make any kind of a living is live gigs and merchandise. I think that the way it could be improved is by people supporting artist and art in general by actually buying a c-d or buying a piece of art.
I think that Drooble is a great place to converse with other musicians and place you music for others to be able to listen yo your music. It is a Wonderful service.
Playing the wrong venue and people talking over you. A friend of mine saw Miles Davis hit someone on the head with his horn for doing so.
To go out and see shows, buy music, and talk with the people who do it.
A great work ethic.
