What is music to you? What does it give you?

So difficult to put into words as different songs can take you to different places, happiness, sadness, awesomeness, melancholy, etc. There isn't a day goes by without me listening to music either through my own playlists or one of the many great radio online radio stations.

What is your music dream?

I guess to be able to support myself through music and for people to genuinely like my music and play it regularly.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

People - there are far too many idiots in the world!

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

I grew up in a very musical house and was introduced to all sorts of sounds from Mum and Dad's record collections - I guess it would have to be the first single I bought "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" by the great Charlie Daniels band! I also love his brother Jack! ;-)

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

Too difficult to answer - depends on my mood and what day it is - it can change daily but some of the bands that are always on my playlists are Def Leppard, the Scorpions, Cody Jinks, Steel Woods, Whitey Morgan and more yet to be discovered.

What inspires you to make music?

Something I've always wanted to do, it relaxes me, I enjoy the creative process and it makes me play even more guitar. As Bryan Adams said, played it til my fingers bled!

What is the message you want to send with your music?

My songs don't always have messages but there is one on the new album that addresses bullying/shaming and the mental issues that are associated with it #mentalawareness.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

To start very nervous, empty brain, forgot my lyrics, sweaty fingers can't play and that then develops into I love this sh1t!

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

From my perspective, it appears there is very little money in the music production and streaming business and that most of it comes from touring and getting out there as much as possible. It's early days for me and I am still learning. Breaking through is very hard!

What do you think of Drooble?

Great idea and very supportive for musicians - I wish I had more time to spend on it as I miss a lot of value by not engaging more fully.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

The time that it takes to build a following and the politics associated with becoming one of the "in-crowd"!

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

I attend as many gigs as I can, time and money allowed. It's always a good excuse for a beer and I love drinkin!

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

Self awareness, a good ear, honesty, no illusions of self worth, huge loads of perseverance, the ability not to be down cos something goes against your wishes, patience, don't be a hater, don't be jealous, applaud others success, listen to an eclectic selection of music, always sleep on something before going public with your thoughts or a response to something controversial.
