Bobby Duane

Story

I'm 61 going on 29 in April of 2020. Been playing guitar and writing since I was 14. I learned early on to love the Southern Rock blues style of lead and slide guitar. I was recently playing in a band called "The Everlovin'Diehards" (see video on this site) but I think we are in limbo right now. Anyone interested in a lead and slide player of my style just hit me up here. I have a 15 year old daughter we adopted from Russia when she was 18 months old. Although she is a hand full and keeps me busy doing other things other than music, I still consider her a blessing from God.

What is music to you? What does it give you?

It's more than just a sound wave that's pleasent to the ear (though some define it that way), it's a displayed passion that only the soul can feel and understand.

What is your music dream?

To receive Songwiter of the year award, or just to be able to write, play, and record for a living.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

The leaders of countries that are oppressive and cruel to there people just for the sake of their own greed and misguided ideologies.

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

"Somewhere Over the Rainbow" by Irving Berlin

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

Jimi Hindrix, Duane Allman, The Allman Brothers Band, Big Daddy Weave, David Crowder, and many, many more.

What inspires you to make music?

The concept of writing something nobody has ever done before.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

That You are not alone and we are all the same inside.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

I feel comfortable and happy, even if it's just jamming cover songs in my band. I love to show off my guitar playing abilities. People love it!

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

I'm old school of course, so what I hear now these days is a lot of drum machine beats (some that are purposely programed to be cheep sounding) with rapping. A number of years ago, I was asked why I don't like rap and some hip hop, and that answer is simple... It doesn't do anything for me. So if these artist and their fans like what they are doing and make a good living at it, then more power to them. Just wish they would go back to playing REAL instruments.

What do you think of Drooble?

It's similar to other sites like Reverbnation, but seems to have a little more community flare to it. So far I like it.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

Not having a good balance of time to put into it. Like most people I have to work a day job.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

I try to on different social media groups.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

Original, sounds, words and melodies that are not too far over the line. I think people can tell when something is well done, and at the same time not over done.
