What is music to you? What does it give you?

Playing: Experiences. All the memorable things that have happened to me, especially in terms of people I have met and become friends and lovers with, have come to me through music. Listening: Escape to joy.

What is your music dream?

To switch from gigging playing cover tunes to writing and producing my own thoughts and ideas musically

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

Politics/politicians. Throw them all out and start over with true believers in mankind

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

Everything the Beatlles ever wrote and did. My favorite to play was "Something" be George Harrison.

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

Too many to list. Cam, Miranda Lambert, Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, Jimmy Buffet, Dixie Chics, Hank Williams Sr and Jr, Waylon and Willie, Eric Clapton, Santana, Merle Haggard, Chicago, Fleetwood Mac, Emmy Lou Harris, Rolling Stones, Moody Blues, Led Zeppelin, Cream, Traffic, Blind Faith, bunch of blues guys like Robert Johnson and TBone Walker, Alice in Chains, Corn, Tool, Metallica, Pretenders, Sir Elton John, Eagles. All time favorite were Beatles.

What inspires you to make music?

First: the notion that the ability is there--I am blessed--and so, as with any talent or skill, if you have it you want to use it. Second: the hope of making someone else feel good about something.

What is the message you want to send with your music?

Ever changing but mostly get out of the mud and feel good.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

IT depends. If its me in a band and maybe Im just on bass I just go for and enjoy. The smaller the band or especially working solo it gets more nervy and scary as I am running the pa, drums, playing, and singing everything so its a lot of opportunity to screw up. Mostly I feel blessed to be fortunate enough to be doing it.

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

I know people have been saying this since Mozart but too much same old, formulaic stuff and not enough really new sounding stuff. And as far as "electonic music" to me that's an oxymoron.

What do you think of Drooble?

Awesome I am so glad I found it

What frustrates you most as a musician?

The audiences have changed and become really intolerant. People are so used to the perfection that comes out of studios they are expecting too much of that live, which is not what its all about. Also everyone has their own "song list" and if you play one tune that they don't "like" they really get down on you. The other thing is trying to find other musicians to play with who are actually competent.

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

I actually don't as I keep really busy with my own thing.

What qualities should a musician nowadays have in order to get their music heard by a larger audience?

Please tell me ? Been trying to work that one out for about 50 years now. One serious note tho the more you can be original and not covering or mimicking the better for shore.
