What is music to you? What does it give you?

I must start this answer by stating I am not a not a natural musician. My abilities are acquired from passion and dedication. Overall I guess I have made some significant strides as I do perform out regularly performing and singing cover songs for the most part, and many seem to believe I am a natural musician.. I am not. That in part addresses the question in terms of music being I am very passionate about. I find that if I don't play for a week or more I tend to get sad and depressed.. so Music is medicine, it is well being it is self improvement and discovery. When I play out (usually 3-4 hours) I don't take a break.. and when it is over it seems to me like 10 minutes went by.. Music to me is a special place to be.. where time disapears, where there is something new to discover all the time.. it takes some doing to get there.. but in that place there is peace of mind, no deception.. it is a place of ever learning, where the only way to learn is through humility and devotion.

What is your music dream?

My music dream is to be truly musical.. to truly understand the underpinnings of music and to be able to think musically.. to be able to translate feelings and thoughts into musical phrases.. to truly be fluent in music as a language.. knowing it's grammar and to develop a certain eloquence that expresses my thoughts. To do this there are many simple yet difficult learning abilities to work on.. reading music, learning multiple instruments, composition, harmony.. all things that really have beginnings but have no end... I am learning Violin and Piano now.. and loving it.. . I want to also continue to perform and to have the ability to truly engage with the audience to make every performance unique and special.

If you could change the world - what would you start with?

Frank Zappa once said; "the biggest problem in the world is mental health".. wile there is no real standard for sanity there are certainly standards for humanity. I believe we need to rise up and really want a more humane and just world.. but we also have to be willing to make sacrifices.. we need leaders that are judged not by their financial status or their popularity rather by their humanity... we need to start there... start praising those who are really promoting a better and more humane world.. start choosing leaders with truly humane success stories.. and by each one of us having values and principles that we are truly willing to fight for and to make sacrifices for.. and we need to work together to spread this trend.. we also need learn to not promote those who achieve success through deception, lies and by undermining the well being of others.. these successes need to be transmuted into failure..

Which is the most memorable song from your childhood?

Probably "sitting on the dock of the bay" or "Mcarther Park"... why I don't know

Who are your favorite musical artists or bands?

The genius of JS Bach.. is overwhelming... I love many artists .. in the modern world the work of Frank Zappa stands out also as an amazing composer and artist. I love the music of Ennio Morricone... in the guitar world .. of which I am very much in.. the Finger Picking work of Marcel Dadi and his compositions deserve recognition... the number of artists that I find great are too many to mention ...in the Prog World.. Gentle Giand stands out... I love Gloria Estafan.. George Benson.. Eddie Van Halen.. Paul, Chet Atkins .. the Italian pop group I Pooh.. Antonios Carlos Jobim from Bossa fame.. Toquinho.. ..Just too many.. Tommy Emanuel... Candy Dufler on sax with a great funk feal.. too too many..

What inspires you to make music?

the answer is simple.. Life

What is the message you want to send with your music?

This is such a great question... Music is a discipline, it is a language.. it is an artform that affirms our humanity.. it deserves to be a part of who we humans are.. and it is probably a key factor in improving our sense of meaning and humanity.. but overall.. anybody can make music because music is part of what we are.

How do you feel when you perform in front of an audience?

When I was young I was very nervous and on edge.. now I am relaxed and at home.. I just close my eyes dig inside and express what I feel.. or better said I do the best I can to do that... If I do well I am happy if I don't .. at least I tried..

How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved?

Music reality is very hard today... in general, we need to invent new ways to make use of music.. this is a great challenge.. I don't have an answer.. but I do know this.. a performance is not just the performer .. it is the performer and the audience.. that is what makes for a successful event..

What do you think of Drooble?

I love Drooble.. best thing since sliced bread.

What frustrates you most as a musician?

The level we are at with music is very low.. music should be promoted more not to sell but perhaps to heal.. to educate.. to communicate.. I don't know.. It seems that music, in general, is not evolving the way it could or should and has the potential to provide benefits that are still untapped.. I don't have an answer...

Do you support your local scene as a fan? How?

Yes.. I go to local shows as often as I can.. I have a local internet radio station to promote local artists as well.
